Linz presents the Austrian premiere of Irmin Schmidt’s rock opera “Gormenghast”. Based on Mervyn Peake’s legendary novels, the work combines bizarre characters, ritual, and intrigue with a unique fusion of rock, orchestra, and avant-garde sounds. The Times hailed it: “If Richard Strauss had written rock music… gloriously, unashamedly lush.”
